Do you deliver catering equipment to Warrington?

Yes. We deliver and collect across Warrington from our depot at Unit 16, Wheathill Industrial Estate, Netherley, Liverpool L27 0YA, which is 11 to 20 road miles from every WA district on this page. Great Sankey and Penketh are the nearest at around 11 miles, the town centre about 15, and Lymm the furthest at about 20.

The same van does the run to Woolston and Paddington in WA1, Orford, Padgate and Winwick in WA2, Birchwood and Culcheth in WA3, Stockton Heath and Appleton in WA4, Burtonwood and Westbrook in WA5, and Lymm and Statham in WA13. Lowton and Golborne share the WA3 code, so we cover them at the WA3 price even though they sit in Wigan borough.

You can hire anything in the catalogue: Athena white hotel porcelain and Kings or Harley cutlery in tens, glasses by the crate, white linen, trestles, LPG and electric cooking kit, hot cupboards, bottle fridges, and the hog roast, BBQ and paella gear in our outdoor cooking range. Every price on the site is for a 2-day hire, ex VAT, with standard cleaning already included, so there is no separate washing-up charge on a normal order.

Our driver delivers, unloads and collects. We don't lay tables or dress a room, and there is no same-day service, but a list sent in good time is usually a simple job for a Warrington postcode.

Which way does the van come, and will I pay any tolls?

Most Warrington drops need no tolled crossing at all. From Netherley the van picks up the M62 east and comes off at junction 8 for Great Sankey, Burtonwood and Westbrook, junction 9 for the town centre, Winwick and Padgate, or junction 11 for Birchwood and Culcheth. All of that is north of the Mersey, so it is motorway and A-road the whole way.

Stockton Heath, Grappenhall, Appleton and Latchford in WA4 sit south of the river and the Manchester Ship Canal. The van gets there either through the town and over the canal, or round on the motorway and in from the south. Neither way has a toll. The swing bridges over the Ship Canal open for shipping now and then, so we allow a little slack on timings for those roads. Lymm is reached along the M62 to the M6, then off at junction 20.

Where a toll, parking charge or permit does apply on your route, it goes on the quote at cost with nothing added. For WA4 addresses out towards Daresbury or Moore, the quickest route may cross the Mersey Gateway, and if it does the toll is shown on your quote.

The figures below are worked out the same way as the calculator on our delivery page. Delivery and collection are two separate visits, and each visit is charged on the road miles there and back: £1.50 a mile in the Citroën Dispatch, £2.00 a mile in the Citroën Relay Luton with its tail-lift, and never less than £50 a visit. That minimum is why WA5, WA2, WA1 and WA4 all come out at £100 for the pair in the small van.

The heaviest item on your list decides the van. Crockery, cutlery, glass crates, linen and boxed tableware fit the Dispatch. Ovens, fridges, hot cupboards, bars, trestles, BBQs and hog roasts need the Luton, and one of them is enough to put the whole load in it.

How much is delivery to Warrington?

WA5, WA2 and WA1 sit just off the M62 north of the Mersey, so they are among our cheapest drops outside Liverpool. Most of WA4 lies south of the river and the Ship Canal, and WA3 and WA13 cost a little more on distance.

Figures cover delivery and collection, ex VAT: each visit is £1.50 a mile in the Citroën Dispatch or £2.00 a mile in the Luton, on the road miles there and back, with a £50 minimum a visit. Loading and unloading is £12.50 per started half hour, and tolls, parking and permits are added at cost. Distances are approximate from L27 0YA; your written quote uses the actual route. Collect from the depot yourself and there is no delivery charge.

Is Warrington in Cheshire or Greater Manchester?

Warrington is in Cheshire. The borough is run by Warrington Borough Council, a unitary council, and it is not part of Greater Manchester. The town north of the Mersey moved from Lancashire into Cheshire in 1974.

It matters more than it sounds, because the council is who you deal with for anything licensed or on a public road. A Temporary Event Notice for a bar at a WA1 to WA5 or WA13 address goes to Warrington Borough Council. A few edge areas belong to other councils even with a WA postcode. Daresbury in WA4 is Halton, so an event there goes through Halton's process (our Widnes page covers that side). Lowton and Golborne in WA3 come under Wigan.

Warrington sends public events to its Event Safety Advisory Group, known as ESAG, through an event notification form. If you are organising something in a park or on a closed road, ask the council about ESAG timings before you book the kit. A quote costs nothing until you accept it, so you can have the kit priced while you wait to hear.

What do you need to hire for a Walking Day or street party in Warrington?

For a street party or a community stall, the usual list is trestles, a water boiler and cups, a hand-wash station, bins, and a pop-up marquee if the weather turns. Walking Day is the big local date for this. It is traditionally held on the Friday nearest 1 July, and in 2026 the community-run "Walking Day Reborn" was on Saturday 4 July in Bank Park and around the Town Hall. Check the date for your year with the organisers before you book.

Warrington's own street party guidance says a private street party needs no licence unless you sell alcohol, or sell hot food or drink after 11pm. Public liability insurance is not required for small residential street parties. Road closures are not normally approved to start before 12 noon, so plan the urn and the tables for an afternoon start. The guidance on how far ahead to send the form is worded loosely, so confirm the deadline with the council.

A typical street party list

  • Trestle tables 6ft x 30in at £8.64 each.
  • Electric water boiler 30 litres at £45.90, if a house can lend a socket, or the gas water boiler 20 litres LPG at £40.50 if not.
  • Stacking cups 200ml and saucers at £0.54 each, white mugs 12oz at £0.88.
  • Burco portable refillable hand-wash sink at £108.75, for anyone handling food.
  • Bins 90 litre at £10.80, and a pop-up marquee 3m x 3m at £108.00 for shelter.

Trestles put the order in the Luton, so a street of trestles to WA1 is £120 delivery and collection rather than £100. If you would rather fetch them, collection from Netherley by appointment costs nothing for delivery.

What does a hog roast garden party for 100 in Lymm cost to hire?

For 100 guests at a garden party in Lymm (WA13), with a hog roast, a bar and a buffet table, the list below comes to £1,405.49 ex VAT for a 2-day hire. Delivery and collection in the Luton to WA13 is £160.00, so £1,565.49 before loading time, gas and VAT.

The pig goes on the hog roast machine, which runs on LPG and takes a 45 to 50 kg pig with the head off. Guests eat from a plate with salads and rolls, and the bar serves wine, beer and a toast.

Cooking and safety

  • Hog roast machine 1.4m, LPG: £435.00
  • Calor gas bottle 19kg: 2 at £57.50 = £115.00
  • BBQ safety panel 6ft x 3ft, to keep children back from the hot side: 2 at £33.75 = £67.50
  • Stainless steel table 6ft for carving: £79.75
  • Burco portable refillable hand-wash sink: £108.75
  • Extinguisher £13.50 and fire blanket £6.75

Service and bar

  • Wide rim plate 205mm: 11 packs of 10 at £5.40 = £59.40
  • Harley table fork: 11 packs of 10 at £4.05 = £44.55
  • Saxone wine glass, 175ml serving: 5 crates of 24 at £10.80 = £54.00
  • Pint glass: 4 crates of 24 at £9.72 = £38.88
  • Saxone champagne flute: 3 crates of 35 at £15.19 = £45.57
  • Empire upright bottle fridge: £217.50
  • Trestle table 6ft: 6 at £8.64 = £51.84
  • Large rectangular cloth 70in x 144in for the buffet and bar fronts: 2 at £15.53 = £31.06
  • Bin 90 litre: 3 at £10.80 = £32.40
  • Stainless steel tongs: 4 at £1.01 = £4.04

Cooking and safety come to £826.25 and service and bar to £579.24. Gas is always charged separately from the equipment, and the two bottles are our starting figure. We confirm the number on the quote once we know how long the cook plans to roast.

The refundable security deposit is half the equipment hire, which here is over the normal £500 ceiling, so it would be £500. It comes back within 7 working days once the kit is home in good order. The 25% booking payment secures the date and the balance is due 7 days before handover. For the cloth lengths, the sizing guide shows why a 144in cloth reaches the floor at the ends of a 6ft trestle.

How do you run tea and coffee for an office day in Birchwood?

For a meeting or training day of 60 people at an office in Birchwood (WA3), a filter coffee machine, one 30 litre water boiler and china cups will do it, for £279.86 ex VAT. The water boiler and the trestles put it in the Luton, so delivery and collection is £136.00.

  • Bravilor Novo 2 filter coffee machine: £47.25
  • Electric water boiler 30 litres: £45.90
  • Stacking cup 200ml: 70 at £0.54 = £37.80
  • Saucer 140mm: 70 at £0.54 = £37.80
  • Harley teaspoon: 7 packs of 10 at £4.05 = £28.35
  • Cream/milk jug: 6 at £1.35 = £8.10
  • Sugar bowl: 6 at £1.01 = £6.06
  • Pump flask 5 litre, for a second station: 2 at £10.13 = £20.26
  • Trestle table 6ft: 2 at £8.64 = £17.28
  • Large rectangular cloth 70in x 144in: 2 at £15.53 = £31.06

Most offices have their own tables. Drop the two trestles and the hire comes to £262.58, but the water boiler still puts the order in the Luton, so delivery and collection stays at £136.00. Only without the boiler as well, with the coffee machine and pump flasks covering the hot drinks, would it go in the small van at £102.00. Ten spare cups cover the breaks where people take a fresh one.

A 30 litre boiler holds well over 100 cups of tea in one fill, and our event planner works on one 20 litre boiler for every 95 guests at a sit-down meal, so one 30 litre is plenty for 60. The thing that trips an office is the power. A water boiler and a coffee machine are both heating appliances, and each can draw most of what a single 13 amp plug allows. Give each one its own wall socket. Never run them off the same extension lead or a double adaptor, and if the room's sockets are all on one circuit with a kettle and a microwave already going, move one station to another room.

How many glasses does a bar for 150 guests need?

Start with one glass of each type per guest, rounded up to the crate, and add a crate of each if nobody will be washing glasses during the night. For 150 guests drinking wine, beer and a toast, that is 7 crates of wine glasses (168), 7 crates of pints (168) and 5 crates of flutes (175).

The crate sizes do the rounding for you. Most of our glasses come 24 to a crate, champagne flutes 35, and gin balloons, martini glasses and champagne saucers 12. A 150-guest bar on that plan is 19 crates, and glass on its own travels in the Dispatch.

The bar itself is where the size goes up. The Empire upright bottle fridge at £217.50 stands about 2 metres high and 600mm deep, and the Empire bottle cooler at £145.00 is a lower unit, 1200mm wide. Either one puts the order in the Luton. Plug each into its own socket and switch it on as soon as it is in place, because cold stock needs time to come down to temperature.

On the night, put the empty crates under the bar so glasses go back in by type as they are cleared. That saves sorting later, and it is how we need them returned. The bar and refrigeration and glassware pages list every size.

When should you book for Creamfields weekend, Walking Day and the bank holidays?

Book as early as you can for the August bank holiday, early July and Christmas, because those dates are busy and peak pricing applies. Creamfields runs at Daresbury, in WA4, over the August bank holiday weekend and draws tens of thousands a day, so the diary fills early and the roads near Daresbury get busy. The Neighbourhood Weekender in Victoria Park lands on a May bank holiday, and the Lymm festivals and village carnivals fill summer weekends too.

Peak dates (summer, bank holidays, Christmas and New Year) are priced higher on the quote, and the quote tells you exactly how much. The earliest you can book online is 3 days ahead. On the busy dates, weeks ahead is far safer than days.

Weekend events have one useful rule. Kit delivered on a Thursday or Friday and collected on the Monday or Tuesday is normally charged as one 2-day hire, which we confirm on the quote. For a Saturday party in Grappenhall or a Sunday christening in Penketh, that gives you time to unpack before and to stack the crates after without paying for extra days.

Can you get heavy kit into a Stockton Heath house or a Lymm garden?

Usually yes, if you send us photos of the access first. For anything heavy, such as ovens, fridges, hot cupboards or the hog roast, we ask for pictures of the door widths, any steps, the route from the road to where the kit will stand, and the spot where the van can stop. The Luton's tail-lift brings heavy items down to the ground, but it cannot do steps or a soft lawn on its own.

A terraced street may have a narrow front and parked cars, and a garden in Lymm may be down a side path or across grass. A photo tells us whether we need two people and a sack truck, or whether a fridge will have to stand on the patio rather than go round the back. It also lets us quote the loading time honestly. That is £12.50 for each started half hour of loading, unloading or waiting.

Our driver unloads to an agreed spot and collects from the same place. We don't set up furniture or dress the tables. If you need a hand cooking or serving on the day, Four Seasons Catering, the business we grew out of, can also cater the event.

How do booking, deposits and returns work?

Build a list on the site or ring us, and we send a written quote within one working day. Nothing is charged until you accept it. A 25% booking payment holds the date, the balance is due 7 days before handover, and a refundable deposit of half the equipment hire (minimum £100, normally no more than £500) comes back within 7 working days of collection.

Returning is simple but it matters. Scrape and empty the plates, pack everything back in its crates, and put the glasses back by type in the right racks. Kit that comes back mixed or loose may be charged for sorting at £18 an hour plus VAT. Linen goes back dry and unwashed, and please don't put it through your own machine. LPG equipment comes with a regulator, and the gas is charged separately.

The full detail is on our hire terms page. If you want to talk it through, call 0151 230 1600 and choose option 2, message us on WhatsApp at 07506 232976, or use the contact page. For events further east, see our Manchester page.

Catering equipment hire in Warrington: common questions

How much is delivery to Warrington town centre?

Delivery and collection to WA1, the town centre, Woolston and Paddington, is £100.00 ex VAT in the small van or £120.00 in the Luton. That covers both visits. Loading time is added at £12.50 per started half hour, along with any parking or permits at cost. WA5 is the cheapest Warrington district, at £100.00 in either van.

Why does Lymm cost more than the rest of Warrington?

Lymm and Statham (WA13) are about 20 miles from our depot, the furthest Warrington district we list. At that distance each visit passes the £50 minimum, so delivery and collection comes to £120.00 in the small van or £160.00 in the Luton. Nearer districts such as WA5 and WA2 sit under the minimum, which is why they come out at £100.

Do you deliver to Golborne, Lowton and Culcheth?

Yes. They are all WA3, about 17 miles from Netherley, and delivery and collection is £102.00 in the small van or £136.00 in the Luton. Golborne and Lowton come under Wigan Council rather than Warrington, which only matters if you need a licence or a road closure. For the kit itself, the price is the same.

Do I need a licence to run a bar at a party in Warrington?

If you sell alcohol somewhere that isn't licensed, you need a Temporary Event Notice from Warrington Borough Council. It covers fewer than 500 people at any one time, staff included, for up to 168 hours. It costs £21, and you should apply at least 10 clear working days ahead. A private street party that gives drinks away and stops hot food sales by 11pm needs no licence.

Can I collect the equipment myself instead?

Yes. You can collect from Unit 16, Wheathill Industrial Estate, Holt Lane, Netherley, L27 0YA by appointment, with no delivery charge. Bring a vehicle big enough for the crates and remember that glass travels best upright in its racks. Heavy items such as ovens and fridges are easier to leave to our tail-lift van.

Will you set up the tables and lay the places?

No. Our driver delivers, unloads to an agreed spot and collects again afterwards. Laying tables, building furniture and dressing a room are left to you or your caterer. If you want food cooked and served too, Four Seasons Catering, the company behind Event Equip, can cater the event for you.

Do I need to register as a food business for a one-off stall?

If you are selling food, you normally need to register with the council at least 28 days before you start trading. That includes temporary stalls and mobile units. Registration is free and can't be refused. If your business is based in the borough, that means Warrington Borough Council. Register in good time for a Walking Day stall or a park fair, then book the kit.

How quickly can I get a quote for a Warrington event?

We send a written quote within one working day of your list or call, priced on the actual route to your postcode. Nothing is charged until you accept. Online bookings can be made from 3 days ahead, but for bank holiday weekends and Creamfields week, ask weeks rather than days out.
